FAITH and BELIEF

What IS The WILL of GOD

And

The WORK of GOD?

John 6 : 29 & 40

²⁸They said therefore unto him, `What may we do that we may work the works of GOD?'

Ø      What labour is required? 

Ø      What can we do?

• We want to make it about what WE can do rather than what HE has done!

 ²⁹Jesus answered and said to them, `This is the work of GOD that you may believe in HIM whom HE did send.'

Ø      Whom he commissioned…as in Appointed

Ø      Similar to Apostle – representing the one from which you are sent

B   E   L   I   E  V  E

Ø      BASED on US

• This is what we translate as "Belief"

G4102            pistis              a conviction, trust

Ø      BASED on GOD

Ø      The REAL source of Belief

• This is what we translate as "Faith"

FROM THE ROOT

~ Interesting how at the core of our beliefs is a persuasion; that is at one time or another, we were  p e r s u a d e d  to believe a certain way ~

• So who is PERSUADING you?

~ FAITH is GOD’s Divine Persuasion ~

v     We have belief

v     GOD’s sees FAITH

v     FAITH is the FOUNDATION for our Belief

v     You Will Place your FAITH in Something, I would suggest putting it into SOMEONE.

JOHN 6 : 40

            For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the SON and believes in HIM should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

(John 6:40 ESV)
