The Spirit of Babel
Why do I equate Transhumanism with the Spirit of Babel?
- I believe that the Spirit of rebellion that drove Nimrod to create the Tower of Babel is the same Spirit that is behind the forces of Transhumanism.
- Essentially, it is the idea that we can accomplish mighty things without the direction of "GOD". Dare I say, in spite of GOD!
Ø What is Transhumanism and what relevance could it
possibly have for today’s believers?
Wikipedia renders Transhumanism as the following:
“Transhumanism, abbreviated as H+ or h+, is an
international intellectual and cultural movement that
affirms the possibility and desirability of fundamentally transforming the human
condition by developing and making widely available technologies to eliminate
aging and to greatly enhance
human intellectual, physical, and psychological capacities.”
The World Transhumanism Association [WTA], offers a deeper
understanding on this topic.
Think of it as evolution on steroids!
Essentially, time and natural selection are replaced by human “intervention”
which has led it to be coined “as the fusion of body and machine.”
Let me be clear, having taking college courses on Evolution and
Human Origins, I do not support these theories.
It is my humble opinion that these theories run contrary to the
Truth of Scripture, and are merely developed by those who need to explain away “Intelligent
Design” – GOD.
Allow me to provide some practical examples of Transhumanism being
developed today:

The splicing of Goat DNA with Spider DNA to produce a goat milk
that can be synthesized for military protective gear.
Or you can simply do
an internet search article on ‘Spider Goat’

Study to Focus on Mixing Human and Animal DNA
Ø
For a more robust Christian perspective on these activities, I
would recommend looking into some teachings by Tom Horn or L.A. Marzulli.
So what’s the big deal?
What harm is there in trying to extend and perhaps magnify the
quality of a human being’s life?
At the surface this activity may seem harmless, but I believe
Scripture should be the sole authority on such matters.
In Genesis 1 : 11 – 12 we
read
[11] And GOD said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb
yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed
[is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
[12] And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed
after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after
his kind: and GOD saw that [it was] good.
Ø
GOD created “seed”
to yield after its own kind. NO mixing!
Ø
This calls into
question the agricultural movement into “hybridization”
All though the scripture is clearly referring to vegetation, this
concept is carried through to animals in
Genesis 1 : 25 where Scripture tells us:
[25] And GOD made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle
after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind:
and GOD saw that [it was] good.

The idea is that
every living thing that the LORD GOD created was designed to mate with its
particular “kind” or species.
That is why a horse
can mate with a donkey, but a bird cannot procreate with a mouse.
Let’s dig a little deeper and look at what was going on in the time
of NOAH.
We read in Genesis 6 the following activities:
Ø The sons of GOD [Angels]
took the daughters of men for wives
Ø The Nephilim [literally in
Hebrew meaning “fallen” or cast down ones] are on the Earth.
They are the offspring of
women and angels
They are evil, tyrannical, and
mighty
My mind can't help but conjure up those diabolical creatures of Greek Mythology! ! !
You know the ones the "gods" created by mingling animals and humans together! ! !

Ø .GOD decides the only
remedy is to “blot” out all of HIS creation.
Ø But NOAH found “grace” / “favor”
in the eyes of YAHWEH.
What was it about NOAH that
he found such favor in the LORD’s eyes?
Let’s read the account in Genesis 6 : 9
These are generations
of Noah: Noah is a righteous man; flawless in his generations; with GOD hath Noah walked
habitually.
~Youngs Literal Translation
In this verse alone
a few things stand-out:
Ø Noah is a righteous man
Ø His “genealogy” is flawless
Ø Noah walked with GOD
habitually
This verse stands in direct opposition to what was going on in Noah’s
time.
Interesting that the author emphasizes Noah’s “generations” TWICE
in this single verse.

Why is it important that Noah’s genealogy was “perfect” or “flawless”?
Answer: Because the MESSIAH
would come out of that bloodline!
Could it be that the “fallen ones” were trying to “taint” the
bloodline of the coming Messiah and thus trying to negate HIS coming?
As a side note:
I love the Spiritual
undertone that walking with GOD habitually keeps the flesh from corrupting!
To be sure, this comingling brought severe condemnation by GOD.
Genesis 6 : 12
[12] And God seeth the earth, and lo, it
hath been corrupted, for all flesh hath corrupted its way on the earth.
The washing of water was the only way the LORD GOD could preserve what
HE had created!
I find it interesting that in Luke 17 : 26, JESUS refers to the time of Noah in relation to HIS return:
And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall
it be also in the days of the Son of man
Interesting how in the days of Noah we see “men” forsaking the Way
of GOD, and we see GOD’s creation being tampered with genetically.
Perhaps this is just coincidence…or perhaps it should be a
Providential reminder that our redemption draws near!
May the LORD add HIS blessings to this teaching…
